Wolfcub were approached by development agency SCA Worldwide to create a game and university aggregation product called Global University Match, or G.U.M for short.
The application was to be two fold:
Firstly, it would function as a Facebook game, whereby players can go up against other players around the world and answer questions on their chosen subjects, against the clock in a “fastest-finger-first” format.
Secondly, it would be a mobile-platform-agnostic application for both iOS and Android to help students to choose the right international university for them.
On the app, students would enter information in a fun and engaging way, which would provide light relief to the traditional processes of finding a place to study.
The two branches of the application were then required to come together to make an overall G.U.M branded experience that would encourage applications to Universities.
Firstly, we worked closely with SCA to create a brand for G.U.M.
SCA were keen to create a friendly and interactive brand that also had an academic weight to it too.
We then went on to prototype the game and application elements using Invision, which allowed us to work iteratively with quick turn-arounds.
Global university match is now being used by thousands of students worldwide and has had significant success as a viral tool to help students find their perfect international university match.
